What is the Construction Products Regulation (CPR)?
The Construction Products Regulation (CPR) — Regulation (EU) No 305/2011 — lays down harmonised conditions for the marketing of construction products in the European Economic Area. Its core elements are:
- the declaration of performance (DoP), by which the manufacturer declares a product’s performance in relation to its essential characteristics,
- the CE marking, based on harmonised technical specifications (harmonised standards).
A recast as Regulation (EU) 2024/3110 has been adopted; its application is subject to staggered transitional arrangements. The precise status (which rules apply from when) is authoritative and should be taken directly from the regulation text.
